- A Grand Celebration of Corpus Christi: High Mass, Benediction, Procession & Pageant, Adoration, and the Divine Office. On Sunday, June 25, Holy Trinity will host a High Mass for the Feast of Corpus Christi. Following the Mass, a procession will be held, in which the children of the parish are invited to assemble dressed as angels to symbolize the heavenly hosts that adore the Blessed Sacrament (see Corpus Christi for more on this venerable practice, once popular at Holy Trinity and all over the world). The newly rejuvenated Holy Name Society will also be marching under its new banner. After the procession, Benediction & Adoration will be held, followed by the divine offices of Sext, None, and Vespers. The celebrant for this feast will be Rev. Charles Higgins of St.Theresa’s Church in West Roxbury.
- Blessing of Herbs & Fruits on the Feast of the Assumption. For the first time in living memory, the 7:00 p.m. Tridentine Mass at Holy Trinity German Church will feature a special blessing of herbs and fruits for the Feast of the Assumption. This is a very ancient custom associated with the Feast (see The Weeks After Pentecost). Interested parties are invited to bring their herbs or fruits with them to church on August 15th, where they will be blessed immediately prior to Mass.
